Herstory
In partnership with East Riding Theatre
Commissioned by Beverley Girls’ High School Head of Drama to encourage Year 9 students to engage more actively in the Arts and experience working in a professional theatre.
Using devising techniques including physical theatre, free-writing and research the participants created their own piece of theatre inspired by unknown trail-blazing women.
“The girls absolutely loved it and I think it has definitely encouraged them to take Drama for GCSE, which is fantastic!”
Leanne Bevan, Head of Drama, Beverley High School
These workshops have been re-developed for Year 6 as part of ERT’s Arts Enrichment Days supported by The Beverley Arms Hotel.
Through drama and art workshops Molescroft, Keldmarsh, Tickton & St Mary’s Primary Schools have created a mural, facilitated by Artist Emma Garness, which will be displayed at Flemingate Centre from 8th March 2019.
